What is WGCEF?

What are we? A 501 (c)(3) Non-Profit Organization under the 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986.

What does this mean? Gifts, donations and contributions are tax deductible. You can help us in achieving a higher quality of education with your tax-deductible contributions.

Why do we exist? The community came together to form the Foundation in 1996 to allow us to rise above the Tabor and Gallagher State Financial limitations for the West Grand School District and is “dedicated to enhancing education through strengthening the relationship between the community and schools.”

What have we accomplished? Since our inception, we have taken in over $1,000,000 in various gifts and donations. Blue Valley Ranch has given us a $300,000 grant for school technology improvements. The Loretta J. and Horace W. Brown Family have given us $30,000 as an endowment for annual scholarships. Monetary help has also been given to the before and after school project, “Kidworks,” the After Grad Party annually, and the Elementary Playground Project. We annually give over $20,000 in scholarships to the Kremmling Pre-School, West Grand High School and to adults in our community trying to further their higher education. The foundation help to support the Forward Motion Project, Kremmling Cattle King Hockey Club, West Grand Middle School Student Council, school field trips, West Grand Robotics Club and Athletic Programs.

What can I do? You can attend one of our meetings to learn more about our purpose: “to aid in the fulfillment of education and community service functions of West Grand.” You can give financially. Every person or family who gives a gift may place stipulations on how their gift is to be used. The Board will adhere to those stipulations Our meeting are quarterly on the first Monday of January, April, July, and October. Membership is open and we encourage you to attend a meeting or talk to one of the foundation members if you are interested in joining. Our meeting place is at The Moose Cafe at 5:30 p.m.

What types of gifts can be given? Any type of gift is welcomed and appreciated, whether it be monetary or in other ways. Some examples of past donations are two modulars that were donated to our foundation. We in turn sold them for $58,000. We are open to accept bequeaths that could be used as a perpetual memorial of your loved one’s “Dedication to quality education.” We have received items that we auctioned off, we also have received large tickets items that have been used for raffle prizes.

Why do we solicit? The Foundation is a monetary conduit to assist people like yourself in contributing in your own personal way to the education of the children and adults of the West Grand Community.

What do we do? We review grant requests. We provide student academic scholarships. We provide money for various school and community projects. We are now actively working towards building an educational endowment. We have an annual banquet that is fast becoming one of the social highlights of the community. Most of all we enjoy helping the people of our community have a higher quality of education. Contributions to the Foundation are tax deductible. When people contribute to the Foundation, they have direct control over how their money is spent. You can have a direct and personal impact! Children are our greatest future assets. They need you and the Foundation as your vehicle to help them! Give adults the opportunity to expand their education.
