Ms. Bergum

Hello!  My name is Karen Bergum, and I am teaching 5th grade at West Grand Elementary School.  I grew up on a farm in eastern Nebraska, and went to college at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, and I worked as a registered dietitian for several years.   I began teaching after volunteering, then working in my kids' elementary school in Grand Junction.  I completed a graduate course in education, and received my teaching certification through Mesa State College (Now Colorado Mesa University) in Grand Junction.

When I am not working, I enjoy fishing and hiking, taking in the scenery, and in winter, downhill and cross country skiing.  If there is any time left, you will find me walking dogs, reading, at my sewing machine, or cooking up something in my kitchen.  So much to do, so little time!
