Ms. Janssen

Mrs. Janssen

I am a transplanted Idaho "spud," born and raised in Boise, Idaho. After graduating from the University of Idaho, I came to Colorado to attend the School of Nuclear Medicine Technology that used to be at the old St. Anthony Hospital in Denver. That is where I met my husband, Larry. We were married three years later, and shortly after that we moved to Kremmling.

I gave up being a nuclear medicine technologist and chose to be a stay-at-home mom. While teaching children's classes at my church, I started thinking about going back to school for my teaching credentials. Through Regis University I was able to get the necessary college courses, and I received my Colorado teacher certification in 1992. About twelve years later I completed my Master's degree with emphasis in Curriculum with Adams State University.

I have taught grades 3, 4, and 5 in a variety of different formats, in both public and private schools. Many years ago, I had two grades (third and fourth) in one classroom learning two different curricula. I also worked in the "looping" system that we had here at West Grand several years back, in which I taught the same group of children as their fourth grade teacher and also as their fifth grade teacher the following year. However, the majority of my teaching experience has been in the fourth grade.
